Online NP Primary Care Suicide Prevention Research Study-- Potential $20 for Participation in Research

Dear Northeast Tennessee Nurse Practitioners Association, 

My name is Lauren Smith. I am the Doctoral Research Assistant working with Dr. Guy Weissinger at the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing of Villanova University. I am reaching out to invite eligible members of your organization to participate in our study on NP primary care providers education, attitudes, and preparedness for suicide prevention.

Primary Care Nurse Practitioners are a vital part of the healthcare system but rarely the focus of research. As we continue to experience a mental health crisis, it is critical to understand their education, attitudes, and preparedness so that NPs can be better supported in meeting patients’ needs.
Key Information: This study is for research purposes and is voluntary. IRB approved at Villanova University.
• Upon completion of the consent form https://villanova.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bdWxlx9ok0ehCTk participants will complete an online survey (~20 minutes) asking questions about demographics, education, clinical practice, training, and thoughts around suicide, in general and in relation to clinical practice.
• Participants will be entered into a raffle for one of two $50 Amazon gift cards.
• Participants who are interested may provide contact information for potential participation in follow-up zoom interview on this topic and receive $20.
Inclusion Criteria: We invite you to participate if you:
1. Are practicing as a nurse practitioner in a primary care setting in the United States
2. Are credentialed as a nurse practitioner in one of the primary care disciplines:
• Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
• Family Nurse Practitioner
• Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
• Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
• Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
