July 2021 Business Meeting and Changes
Posted about 4 years ago
It's been a while, but we are finally moving forward and will start hosting sponsored dinner meetings again beginning in July 2021. At this time we will be limiting the number of people allowed to come to the dinner events, so registration will be required.
In the past, some meetings required registration beforehand, but many attendees had not actually registered. We are eager to have productive, informative, and safe meetings again. Thank you in advance for respecting our sponsors and members by registering as requested.
In other news, the NETNPA Board has decided to change how the “business” aspect of our meetings will be conducted, starting with the July 2021 meeting. Historically we have held a monthly business meeting where NETNPA business was reviewed/addressed prior to the sponsor/speaker’s presentation. When closures and restrictions with in-person group meetings arose due to the pandemic, our organization met online via ZOOM. These ZOOM meetings were poorly attended and typically had 2 to 6 attendees (including the Board members). We appreciate our members who chose to engage by attending the ZOOM meetings and during this time we developed some great outreach initiatives. With all that said, our NETNPA meetings will be slightly different as we emerge from our pandemic fog.
We will continue to have monthly meetings, however, the “business” portion of the meeting will only be conducted quarterly. Nothing regarding meeting times will fundamentally change, we are just not holding the “business” portion of the meeting every month. Many larger nursing organizations (such as the Tennessee Nurses Foundation) meet quarterly and allow subcommittees to meet at their discretion between the quarterly meetings. By instituting this change, members will have time to socialize/network prior to the speaker’s presentation and engage with the sponsor/speaker after the presentation. The months chosen to conduct the “business” meetings align with timing to announce scholarship recipients, minimize holiday season interference, and review quarterly community outreach initiatives.
Business meetings will be held the following months: July, October, January, and April.
We will continue to have monthly meetings pending sponsorship. We also plan to host an end of year Social Event for NETNPA members as we did in December 2019.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to the increased opportunity to network with our fellow nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students, and others who support our profession.
Information regarding the July 15th Business Meeting and registration will be posted soon. Be sure to REGISTER for the event.
