Abuse Alternatives Education Session at April 2021 Business Meeting on Thursday, April 15th at 6:30pm via ZOOM
We are excited to partner with Tammy Childress, Community Educator for Abuse Alternatives, and have her join us during our ZOOM meeting to educate us about her programs, services, and ideas that we can incorporate into our practice to help victims of domestic violence.
She has also shared with us a list of items that some of the local domestic violence agencies need to help their clients. The list will be included at the bottom of this announcement.
In addition to the items listed below, any monetary donations made for this Second Quarter Community Initiative will be distributed and possibly matched by grant funding that the agencies that work with Abuse Alternatives may apply for (matching grant).
This is a note from Tammy:
I appreciate the you and the Northeast Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association for choosing to adopt us for the second quarter.
I have spoken with our Executive Director, Donna Mix and our Shelter Director, Rachel Barrett and have come up with the following items that could be used by our clients:
Small denomination gift cards that clients could use for gas.
Birthday plates, napkins, a Happy Birthday banner for children in shelter
Gift cards from Kroger or Walmart to cover the cost of a birthday cake and ice cream for any child in shelter (we can not purchase these things with grant funds).
Dish towels,
Full size Conditioner
Full size Body Wash
Full size Kids tear-free shampoo/body wash
Hair Brushes
Full size Ethnic haircare products
Zip-lock storage bags (gallon and sandwich)
General cleaning supplies: specifically all-purpose cleaner with bleach, furniture polish, etc. )
Dryer sheets
We can also ALWAYS use things like towels, wash cloths, twin sheets, and pillows.
Thank you so much!
I’m looking forward to speaking with your association on April 15.
Best,
Tammy
