Position Description

A highly respected neonatal program in Coastal Southeast Virginia is seeking Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) to support care across multiple NICU acuity levels, ranging from Level I & II community hospitals to a Level IV NICU. This inpatient role offers exceptional scheduling flexibility, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and long-standing integration of NNPs within neonatal care teams.

NNPs manage neonatal patients across varying levels of complexity, work closely with neonatologists and nursing teams, and contribute to high-quality, family-centered care. Opportunities exist for clinical growth, academic involvement, quality improvement, and research, depending on interest.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care across NICU Levels I–IV

• Manage premature and critically ill neonates

• Participate in delivery room and inpatient neonatal care

• Collaborate with neonatologists and multidisciplinary teams

• Support family education and care coordination

• Document care and clinical decision-making accurately

Qualifications

• Active Virginia APRN license

Board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)

• 1–3 years NICU or neonatal experience preferred

• Strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills

• Commitment to high-quality, family-centered neonatal care

Schedule & Compensation

$135,000–$175,000 annual salary

• Full-time (part-time options available)

• Flexible scheduling based on division needs
