Master the Art of Healing Wounds with Wound Care Core Curriculum. This 26-hour course goes in-depth to build your expertise in wound care and coaches you in the skills to understand how to help your patients heal and how to adapt and choose techniques based on the patient’s specific needs. This course will equip you with effective, practical, evidence-based techniques and give you a critical eye to handle and help heal even the most stubborn wounds.
This course has been reviewed by the National Alliance of Wound Care & Ostomy (NAWCO) Certification Committee and meets the eligibility requirements for the Wound Care Certified (WCC®) examination. The bundled course encompassing Basic and Advanced programs must be taken to meet the requirements.
This program includes both the Wound Care Basic Core Curriculum track and the Wound Care Advanced Core Curriculum track: the Basic Curriculum provides you with all of the fundamental knowledge that you will need to care for a patient with either an acute or a chronic wound. You will learn how to think critically about wounds, learning the etiology, pathophysiology, and comorbidities that impact the clinician’s treatment plan. The wound care specialist is an expert on factors creating and impacting wounds, not simply knowing how to treat them. You will understand the complexities of acute wounds that may become chronic so they can impact patient outcomes through early intervention. The Advanced Curriculum includes more complex concepts, skills, and techniques, broadens your knowledge of advanced treatment options, and further enhances your diagnostic skills.
